You can't seem to break the 10 mile mark, and I can't seem to break a sweat. Which one of these things is worse than the other? I ran ONE TIME the week of April 19th... ONE TIME for a whopping 4 miles. My cold is over, so I really don't have a huge excuse.
One thing has become clear: I need to shift my Syttende Mai goal. I will NOT be running that 17 mile race. Instead I'm buying myself two more weeks of training and going for something a bit shorter:
Madison Half Marathon

I figure I need the extra two weeks to train, and the 4 fewer miles will be less scary. Yes, I'm a wimp. But, I've never done a half marathon, so my goal is still a good one... Right?

Hi Emms! No, you're not a wimp- better to set achievable goals and reach them than to have impossible goals that you give up on. No way would I be able to do 17 miles in a week or so! Also, this way, our half marathons should be relatively close together. Once we both complete ours, maybe we can set a new goal.
ReplyDeleteOkay... Let's look for something to do in July maybe??? I really need an event to keep me from falling down completely.
